Turns out, this wasn’t spraypainted by the council but instead was carried out by a Sydneysider.
And no, it’s not legal.
A North Sydney Council spokesperson said it wasn’t painted by the council and it was unlawful for whoever did it to do so.
“It has no recognition at law as enforceable,” the spokesperson said.
“Anyone can park in that spot.
“It has been reported to our graffiti team for removal.”
Next time you think about blocking out a park for yourself with some spray paint, think again.
