Two men have escaped serious injury after a car crashed and rolled in Greenacre, prompting a message from police against hoon behaviour.
CCTV footage shows the moment the Toyota Corolla smashed into a parked Mitsubishi Triton ute on Juno Parade at 1.30am today.
The hatchback then flips onto its roof as passersby rush to help two men out of the car.
The driver and passenger can be seen crawling out of the car unharmed.
Nearly one dozen witnesses worked to flip the Corolla back around before emergency crews arrived.
9News understands that the pair did not immediately flee the scene but that they did not admit to the crash either.
The incident triggered a warning to motorists from police against hooning.
”Dangerous driving, particularly in residential areas, is something of great concern,” Detective Acting Superintendent Thomas Barnes said.
“It’s important that you show due care for those around you, not just the people in your car.”
James Abi-Assaf uses the now written-off four-wheel drive for work.
“It was a big hit,” Assaf said.
“It just hurts because [I] can’t really do the things I used to do, now I’m at a loss for work.”
Police are still trying to determine who was behind the wheel when the crash occurred.
