Sringaram – Tales of Love

22 June @ 8:00 pm - 9:01 pm

Event description

★★★★★ “Her movement, always so graceful and gentle, has an unmistakable steel that tells us to sit up and listen and to think more deeply.”– Hannah Molloy, Theatreview.

Sringaram – Tales of Love, choreographed and performed by Swaroopa Prameela Unni, is an intimate dance performance that explores the depths of love, desire, and the essence of femininity. Through a seamless blend of traditional Bharatanatyam and evocative spoken words, this performance takes the audience on a transformative journey into the heart of womanhood, revealing its complexities, beauty, and power.

With a unique lens on love through the eyes of feminism, Sringaram delves into the raw emotions of desire, vulnerability, and strength. The dancer, embodying her true essence, moves with grace and intensity—rooted yet ethereal, grounded yet fluid. Each movement is a reflection of self-discovery, celebrating the multifaceted nature of womanhood and the strength that lies within.

This performance also stands as an allyship to the LGBTQIA+ communities, embracing and amplifying voices of love, acceptance, and inclusivity. Sringaram speaks to the universal nature of love, transcending boundaries of gender, identity, and orientation, inviting everyone to witness and honour the diverse spectrum of human experience.
