Ku-Ring-Gai Stealers 2024 MLB Draft Viewing Party

15 July @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am

Free

The Ku-Ring-Gai Stealers are proud to share alumni, and Oregon State MVP, Travis Bazzana is in the Top 5 of the first-round picks for the 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft. In the history of the MLB, no Australian has ever been selected higher than the fifth round.

To celebrate the Bazzana Buzz, his Sydney-based home club is hosting a champagne breakfast viewing party at their clubhouse (Golden Jubilee Fields, Elk St, Wahroonga) on Monday 15th July at 7am AEST, for fans and the community. All are welcome.

It’s been a long journey from Ku-Ring-Gai Stealers Baseball T-ball to Oregon State MVP and now making Australian history as a Top 5 first-round pick.  Travis played for Ku-Ring-Gai Stealers Baseball from 2007 (t-ball) to 2018 (Under 16s), following in the footsteps of his older brothers Mitch and Hayden. He then played with the Sydney Blue Sox in the Australian Baseball League (ABL) until securing a spot at Oregon State University in 2022, where he broke records for season home runs and stolen bases, made the All-PAC-12 team and was a Freshman All-American.

“We are thrilled with Travis’ continued success and are proud of the player and man he has become. Travis is an example of the Stealers’ dedicated coaching staff and community coming through on our mission statement,” comments the President of Ku-Ring-Gai Stealers, Shaun Joffee, “We are looking forward to celebrating his achievements with the wider community on Monday”.

The Ku-Ring-Gai Stealers mission is not to aim to create a Baseball or Softball Champion but, as a result of the environment and facilities provided, the product of many Baseball or Softball Champions is inevitable.
